Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has finally reunited with his mother and three children after spending nearly two months in a residential treatment facility. The forty eight year old, born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., was hospitalized on August 4 following a disturbing TikTok livestream from his Miami home where he appeared to engage in acts of self harm. Following the incident, authorities intervened and Hilton was involuntarily admitted to a healthcare facility to undergo critical mental health examinations.
According to a recent update shared via his website, the reunion began with several video calls before progressing to short, supervised in person visits at the center. While the family described these moments as emotionally charged, they emphasized that seeing his children has been an incredibly meaningful part of Hilton’s healing process. Despite these milestones, communication remains limited as the medical team prioritizes his intensive care over daily family contact.
Throughout this difficult period, Hilton’s mother, Teresita Lavandeira, has held temporary custody of his three children. In previous statements, the family stressed that their primary goal has been providing stability and normalcy for the kids while their father works toward recovery. They noted that the experience was terrifying for the children and urged the public to remember that mental health struggles can affect anyone regardless of their outward appearance or status.
There is currently no set timeline for when Hilton will be discharged from the treatment center. His support system says they are trusting the guidance of doctors and psychiatrists to ensure he doesn’t rush his recovery. For now, those closest to him say they are simply taking things one day at a time as he learns how to recognize warning signs and develop healthier coping mechanisms moving forward.
